Although, this feature was already there since ages for Google Labs users but Google has finally launched this undo send feature officially. Sometimes we compose and send emails so quickly that after clicking on send button we realize that we have made a typo mistake, an error in the email address or the subject line. With this new (old though) “Undo Send” feature you can Unsend your emails , make the desired correction and send it again.
However, you can Unsend an email only within 30 , 20, 10 and 5 seconds (according to your settings). Hence, if you are thinking to do the correction next day , then this feature doesn’t do that favor for you.
To enable the “Undo Send” feature in Gmail, Follow these steps:
- Open your Gmail account.
- On the right, in the Settings dropdown icon, click on “Settings“.
- In the Settings page, and under General tab, you will find an option named “Undo Send“. Select the checkbox “Enable Undo Send” and also the cancellation period.
- Save the settings.
- Now after sending any email, you will see an option “Undo” in the notification ticker at the top.
UPDATE: This feature is also available for Google Inbox users.
